Rank algorithm update from google weeded out a lot of good or bad websites, in the hope of furnishing it’s search users better results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, in another word, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. The update was initiated more than a year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.
What is old way of link building any way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, the content on those sites will never be updated, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, the name link spamming are just for these sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers, any links on them will be affected too.
